It's A New Release Hop at Dude Time Doodles

Are you all excited, yet?! It's New release time at Dude Time Doodles and they're celebrating with a blog hop!

I hope you're here to join us for this fun hop while we showcase these fabulous new images! Be prepared for some eye candy to knock your socks off!

If you came to me from NanaConnie, you are on the right track! If not, I suggest you start at the Dude Time Doodles blog.

Of course, I have the complete hop list for you, below, in case you get lost along the way.

Be sure you leave comments on all the stops along the way, because one of us is the Mystery Hostess! That means one winner will be drawn from the comments on the blog of the mystery hostess, and that person is going to be the blog hop winner! So, leave some lovin' at every stop along the way! You don't want to miss out on your chance to be the big winner!

Also, I want to remind you that Halloween images are 50% off for the entire month of September so be sure you pick up your favorites in the Dude Time Doodles store, during this special sale!

I hope you're enjoying the wonderful creativity along this hop! These are a very talented bunch of ladies and I'm so honored to have gotten to guest design with them for the month of August. I'm sad that this is my last card as guest designer here, but I have loved every minute of it!

With that said, here is my card for your viewing pleasure:

I had so much fun making this card. I've used Fanny Witch, from the Dude Time Doodles new releases. Fanny is colored with Promarkers. I found this fun Halloween web type cloth in a box of Halloween decorations when I cleaned out the attic. I had to save it, because I knew I'd eventually find a use for it! I cut a piece of it off and stretched it over the front of the card and then adhered it to the back, to make this funky textured overlay. (How's that for recycling?!) Then I used a couple scraps of Halloween paper over it, and attached the image and sentiment. The image, sentiment and paper scraps are mounted with foam mounted tape, for added dimension and 3D effect. I finished the card off by embellishing with some fun metal Halloween brads. My card uses the layout at Sketches By Carly.

I hope you enjoyed my card. It was so much fun to make! I love love love this Fanny witch image! So much fun to work with!

Now, hop on over to Linda's blog to see what she has up her sleeve! I just know she has a fabulous creation to show you!

And remember to leave comments on all the blogs along the way! Here is the complete hop list in case you lose your way:

Today, I have a "Just Because" card to show you. Many times, my cards are specifically for DT work, but sometimes I do get a chance to sit down and do cards "Just because."

This card turned out cute. A funny masculine card, isn't it? I've used Stylin Stew, by Dude Time Doodles and colored him with Promarkers. Wanted! Dead Or Alive!

Hello, hello, hello! It's challenge time, again, at Daisy's Doodles, and we have another fun one for you!

The challenge, this time, is New Moon, which is Daisy's Doodles' version of Anything Goes with a digi! That's right, Anything, as long as you use a digi on your project! How's that for a fun one?! It definitely is one of my favorites!

There is no excuse to not play in this one! You can play along by creating anything, so hurry over to Daisy's Doodles and link up to play along and have a chance to win!

For my project, I made this adorable little card using some of the images from The Freddy Goes West set, by Daisy Doodles. The images are colored with Promarkers. All images and sentiments are all from the Freddy Goes West set. For the background, I used the Cuttlebug and the Distressed Stripes Folder to emboss brown cardstock, then used a sponge dauber to add a darker brown ink, for highlighting the embossed areas, and all the wood like grooves in the embossed panel. All images and sentiments are mounted with foam mounting tape to give the card a lot of dimension and a 3D effect.

This card turned out so cute! Perfect for a guy or even a little boy! I love this set! If you love it as much as I do, hop over to Daisy Doodles' Store and pick this set up for your very own!

Make Your Own Flowers at Shelly's Images

Happy Thursday, everyone! Hope you're all having a wonderful day! I've had a busy week but have some wonderful things going on, so I'm a happy girl!

Anyway, I'm here, today, to share a project with you and tell you about a brand new Teriffically Thrilling Thursday at Shelly's Images! That means its time for a new challenge, and some yummy eye candy from the DT.

Please remember that we are in the process of transitioning through some changes at Shelly's Images. We're going to be having our Challenges go in hand and in hand with the featured images, each week, on Thursdays. However, some of the DT worked ahead and had projects done before the change was made, so things aren't quite in synch again this week. This week's featured image will not match the challenge on all projects. Please bear with us while we make the final steps to get it all together. Starting next week, the featured image and the sketch will go hand in hand, so there will be no confusion.

This week's challenge at Shelly's Images is to make your own flowers. I've created this yummy card for you as inspiration:

For my project today, I'm using the May Flowers image, colored with Promarkers, from Shelly's Images. I chose pink and green because it makes a great color combo. Both papers are scraps from my stash.
I used this gorgeous hand crocheted flower, and accented it with sprigs of greenery, punched with the Martha Stewart branch punch. The sheer white ribbon is from my stash and compliments the flower so nicely.

If you love this May Flowers inage as much as I do, you can get it in Shelly's Store, here.

Happy Birthday, Sexy!

Are you ready to see a rootin' tootin' birthday card?!

I made this card for my friend for his birthday, using the Mae Western image, from KennyK. I colored this sexy vixen with my Promarkers. The metal frame is Hodgepodge Hardware from Stampin Up. I used two patterned papers, star shaped buttons and sheer blue ribbon from my stash

Don't you just love all the layers?! And the pink and blue color combo is perfect for a masculine card.

A teen boy would probably love this card!

This is my first time making a center step card, and I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

I did have a slight mishap, though. The darn ribbon came loose on one side when I took the pic and I didn't notice it till I went to watermark the pic. I've since fixed the loose ribbon, but didn't take a new pic, sorry.

It's A Scavenger Crawl!

The fine folks at Dude Time Doodles are celebrating their First birthday and have rustled up some fun for you. Are you ready for the first ever Dudeville Holla Scavenger Crawl?! What is a Scavenger crawl, you ask?! It's a combination Blog Hop and Scavenger Hunt! Whoo Hoo! Now that sounds like loads of fun, doesn't it?!

This crawl is a circle crawl, so wherever you start works out fine, since the list goes in a circle. If you've started here, just crawling along until you make the complete circle.

I recommend you start at the Dude Time Doodles blog. There, you will find a scavenger list of items you need to look for as you crawl along the blogs of our Dudettes and Special Guests. (Each item is specific to the Dudette or Special Guest) There will be one item, per stop, so be sure you keep your eyes peeled and keep track of which item is on which blog!

Once you have gathered your scavenger list of items, email your list to Cleota, at cmm5569@yahoo.com, for your chance to win.

The prize is a $20 gift certificate to Dude Time Doodles!

Remember, to be eligible to win, you must email your list to Cleota, at:

cmm5569@yahoo.com

You have two weeks to email your entries. A winner will be chosen from all the correct entries on the evening of September 6th and announced on the Dude Time Doodles blog.

As a bonus, several of the stops along the way are offering some yummy bonus candy. (I've heard a rumor that this might be one of those yummy candy stops!)

A list of all the hop participants, in order, has been provided, below, should you get lost on the way and need to crawl your way back to where you got lost.

Oh, and while I have you here, I wanted to give you all a heads up that all Halloween images at Dude Time Doodles will be on sale for 50% off starting on September 1st! What a bargain!

But, before we talk about blog candy, let's have some eye candy for your viewing pleasure.

I created this fun tag using one of my favorite images, from Dude Time Doodles and colored him with Promarkers. he is pop dotted to the tag, to add dimension. I used the Martha Stewart drippy goo punch with a red toned paper and black cardstock, then layered them to simulate fire. The papers are ribbon are all from my stash. The sentiment, "You're Hot," is hand written.

Now that you've seen my tag for some little inspiration, let's get back to the hop details.

If you have crawled into my Scrapshack from Shelly's Blog, then you are crawling in the right direction. If not, turn around and start at the beginning at the Dude Time Doodles blog.

While you are here, I have some mystery crawl candy to give away. To have a chance to win you must do ALL of the following things:

*** Become a follower of my blog
*** Leave me a comment and guess one thing that is in my blog candy
*** Leave comments on all of the blogs in the Scavenger crawl list

Please remember, you must do ALL three things above, for a chance to win my candy. I will be checking to make sure all 3 steps have been completed.

Now, crawl on to your next stop and visit Chrissy's blog. She has some fabulous eye candy to show you while you're there.

Here is your master hop list, in case you get lost as you're crawling along:

Let's Go Back To School

It's Terrifically Thrilling Thursday at Shelly's Images, which means challenge time!

As our followers know, we are starting to change the way challenges and featured images work at Shelly's Images. Our featured images and challenge posts will now be incorporated into one post, on a single day, rather than spread out over two days in the week. Some of the challenge themes and featured images were already set, before the decision was made to combine them. So, for a brief period of time, the featured images may not match the challenge theme. Please bear with us while we ease into this adjustment. Everything is starting to come together and we're thrilled with the new format!

Now that I have that out of the way, let me tell you about the new challenge at Shelly's Images! August is almost half over and the schools are gearing up to start back, so what a perfectly fitting challenge team we have for you this week!

Back To School!

Come over to Shelly's Images and show us your back to school projects! You may be our Top hat winner or even land yourself one of our Gold, Silver or Bronze medals, for playing along!

I'm the lucky one to have created the eye candy for you today, for our weekly challenge. My card uses back to this new school paper. I added sparkle to the flourish on the paper with my clearstar gelly roll pen. The black and white polkda dotted brads are from my stash. You've Caught My Heart!

Are you ready for a new challenge and a new featured image at Shelly's Images? We have an oldie but a goodie for you, today!

Today's featured image is baseball glove, shown below. This was only the second image to be added to the Shelly's Store. How's that for an oldie but a goodie?!

The design team has had so much fun creating with the Baseball Glove image this week. Check out the blog at Shelly's Images to see all the wonderful creations from the DT using Baseball Glove!

Here is my card using today's featured image:

The image, Baseball Glove, from Shelly's Images, is colored with Promarkers. I chose two fun new basbeball papers. I love the red stitching on them! The sentiment, You've Caught My Heart," is computer generated. I used red and white baker's twine through the holed on a heart shaped button that came off an old teddy bear and then tied it in a bow. Then added the button to the center of the Baseball Glove.

This was a fun card and I really like how it turned out. Simple, yet cute, and effective. A great card for the special sports fan in your life!

You're Spooktacular

It's freebie challenge time at Dude Time Doodles! I know how you all love freebies, so you aren't going to want to miss out on this one! Hurry on over to Dude Time Doodles, grab the featured freebie image and play along with us for your chance to be a Dude Time Doodles guest designer! (It is so much fun to be a guest designer! Don't miss out on your chance!)

Today's featured freebie is Gavin Ghost from Dude Time Doodles and Bonibleaux Designs. He's a fabulous ghost and so fun to create with!

My card uses the sketch at Sketch N Stash for the card layout. I used a fun mix of these new Halloween papers, and then made a drippy border with the drippy goo punch by Martha Stewart. After all, what's a ghost without some drippy goo?! Gavin Ghost is colored with Promarkers. I did some sponging around the image with yellow and purple inks. The brads are from my stash and were originally black and white.

This brings me to a little tip for you, today. You can alter brads and other bling my coloring them in with alcohol based markers or paints.

I used my Promarkers to alter these brads and make them the colors I needed to match my card.

How's that for a fun tip?!

If The Crown Fits, Wear It Princess

Are you ready for some yummily creative inspiration?! (Yes, Yes, I know Yumily isn't in the dictionary - I just made it up!) Today, we have just that for you, at Daisy's Doodles. The DT has been hard at work to create more fabulous projects for you.

My card today is full of glitter, girlie and sparkle! Perfect for the little princess or your favorite adult princess! I've created this fun card using the Fairytale set from Daisy's Doodles. The images are colored with Promarkers then cut out and mounted with foam mounting tape, for dimension. The edges are trimmed with a fabulous glittered die cut diamond border. I've added gemstone flourishes for more sparkle, and more added bling to the crown and wand. The gemstone flourishes are from my stash. The glittered bored is something new I found at Michael's.

I love this set! It is so much fun to play with! If you love it as much as I do, you can get it for your very own, here, in the Daisy Doodles Store.

Get this set for yourself and make something glittery and girlie for the princess in your life!

Have You Seen my Hen?

Are you feeling like chicken tonight?! Then we have the perfect thing for you, today, for Marvelous Monday at Shelly's Images!

Today, we are featuring Hen, available on sale for a special price today only, in the Shelly's Images Store.

I became quite attached to this cute little hen while creating with her, and I felt like calling her her just "hen," was too impersonal. So, I gave my hen a name! I'm calling my hen Gertrude, and this is what I did with her:

Gertrude and I worked together to make this cute card. I wanted to go with a country type look, because this hen reminds me of how my grandparents raised chickens when I was little. The papers are all from my stash. I love polka dots and they're very "country" to me, so I went with polka dot papers. The metallic ribbon is from my stash. I added a strip of ribbon and then added two cute little bows. The redish colored buttons across the bottom are also from my stash. My hen, Gertrude, is colored with Promarkers.
