Hit The Halloween Jackpot

Another Halloween card! This time, I'm using Jackpot, the featured image this week at Shelly's Images. You know what that means! It means this image is on sale in the Shelly's Images store, for today only! Hurry over and pick up Jackpot for making your Halloween cards.

The card layout for my card, is the sketch from The Wildflower Patch. I colored the image with my wonderful Promarkers and pop dotted the image for dimension. (Yes, yes, I love these Promarkers!) The papers are scraps from my stash. The spiderweb border and corners are punched using the spiderweb Punch Around The Page set, by Martha Stewart. I added glitter to the spiderwebs with Gunmetal colored Stickles. (Couldn't find my black stickles) The purple and black swirl with black gem, is an acetate sticker by Recollections. I pop doted the acetate cut out, for dimension.

This card reminds me of my mom and one of her favorite leisure activities. Mom and dad loved to go to the casino and play the slots. I miss you, Mom!

Join The Boo Crew

In case you hadn't heard, tonight is Fright Night at the CDAC group for Shelly's Images. Lots of fun, chat, games and prizes, from 6pm-9pm CST. Come on over and hang out with us! Have some fun! There may even be some freebies involved.

This is my project for the Fright Night event. I used Shelly's cute little ghost set, Boo Crew. As soon as I seen this set, I knew it would be perfect for a side step card. The images are colored with Promarkers. I used a clearstar gelly roll pen to add sparkle to the ghosts. All papers are from my stash. This gave me a chance to use my old old old pad of Halloween paper that has been collecting dust. The witch and fence are punched with Halloween punches by Martha Stewart. I apologize for the glare on the shiny piece in the bottom right corner. It's a glittered acetate sticker from MS. I guess the combination of the acetate and the glitter got the best of the poor kitty and he rebelled against the camera flash.

This card was so much fun to make! Hope you all enjoy my creation!

Nurse Penny Hopes you Feel Better, Soon

With the changing weather lately, so many people are coming down with colds and feeling under the weather. Nurse Penny is from Stamping Dragon Designs. She is here to send you get well wishes. This image was a request from me. I had asked Janette to create it for me awhile back, and she did. So of course I had to make a card with it. You can get cute little Nurse Jiggy for your very own (And lots of other cute images) in the store.

I decided to go with christmas colors on a non christmas card, and mix my two favorite patterns.... Gingham and polka dots. The red and white gingham paper is from my stash. I colored the image with Promarkers. And ya have to love the polka dot ribbon, also from my stash. The red flower is by Prima, with a pearl as the flower center. Feeling Sketchy at Craft Your Passion

It's sketch time at Craft Your Passion, this week. Come on over and play along with us, for your chance to win an image of your choice from CocoDingo and Lauretta's Digital Stamps.

Here is my DT submission for this week's sketch challenge. I used the new Santa image from Lauretta's Digital Stamps. I used the sketch at Craft Your Passion. Santa is colored with Promarkers.

I love this combination of the three different patterned papers. All of which are from my stash. I used a scalloped border punch from Fiskars, for the border. I punched a snowflake and mounted it on a punched circle, pop dotted for dimension. Mr Santa's beard is sparkly as is the snowflake, compliments of my clearstar gelly roll pen.

The Good Witch Wore Yellow

You can pick her up today only at a special sale price, in the Shelly's Images store. While you're there, check out Shelly's awesome Halloween digi stamp collection! It's a great bargain!

For my card, I used the sketch at Truly Scrumptious and Just Inspirational Sketches. The good witch is colored with Promarkers. All papers are from my unused paper stash. I distresses the edges of the striped piece of paper with my new distressing tool by Tonic. (I love this thing!) Doggie Doggie Where's Your Bone?

Good Morning bloggers!

Before I get into the challenge info, I wanted to say a sad farewell to Karyn, who's chosen to step down from our DT due to time restraints. Karyn, thank you for all your wonderful creations, and for all your hard work. We will miss having you on the team, and wish you the best of luck in everything!

Ok, now, It is challenge time, again, at Stamping With The Dragon. Our challenge is a color challenge this time: Black, White & one other color. We're being sponsored by the wonderful Angela, from Toucan Scraps, who's giving the winner a fantastic prize---some awesome digi papers! Be sure to join us, this week in our color challenge, at Stamping With The Dragon.

The DT are all working with black and white images from Toucan Scraps for providing your DT inspiration.

I chose these cute dogs at play, and went with a masculine theme. These dogs come in a bundle pack with several choices, but I chose to only use two, so as not to overcrowd the card front. After all, doggies need room to frolick and play. Aren't they cute? They look like best friends!

All papers are from my stash, as are the buttons and the cute dog bone ribbon.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Halloween Pencil Toppers

This is my hosting week for the DT at Shelly's Images, and today is Technique Tuesday. Since we are featuring Halloween images this month at Shelly's Images, I thought it would be great to do a Halloween favor tutorial. Halloween is one of my favorite things about Fall.

Aren't these just too cute?! They are very quick and simple to do, and would be great favors for the kiddies to take to school for Halloween favors.

The Haunted House image is from Shelly's Images. The ghost with pumpkins image and the Trick or Treat bag image are from the Kidz Korner section of Images. The Kidz Korner images are freebies and are drawn by Shelly's daughter, Taylor. I love Taylor's images, they are so cute!

You can check out the complete tutorial on how to make these cuties, here.

Make It Stand Up

This week's challenge at Craft Your Passion is to make an easel card. If you haven't ever made one, please give it it a try and play along with us. They are very simple to make, and they look so awesome! so, what are you waiting for?!! Come on over to Passion and play in our Easel card challenge for a chance to win some cute digis from CocoDingo and Lauretta's Digital Stamps.

I used the sketch at sketches, for the front of the easel card. The image is by CocoDingo and is colored with Promarkers. I chose earthy tones for the card because I felt like it went well with the image. Who says earth tones can't be girly?!

The papers are all from my stash. I recycled the 3 buttons off an old shirt I threw out. (Gotta love recycling!) The flower is by Prima. I pop dotted the sentiment with foam mounting tape for dimension.

It's time for my weekly card for Stamping Dragon Designs. This time, I decided to go with a baby card for a co-worker who just became a grandma, again. This image is from Stamping Dragon Designs and is called Nap Time. I just love the sweetness of this image.

For my card layout, I used the sketch at Tuesday Morning. The papers are all from my stash. The paper flowers are by Flor-A-Doodle, and came from the clearance rack at Meijer. I just bought these cute pink safety pins at Card and Party Outlet and thought they would be perfect for a baby card.

You Can Do Anything

I've used this image before, but decided to use it, again, because it is one of my favorites from Deedee's Digis. It's perfect for an encouragement card, and also reminds me of the end of summer.

For the card layout, I used the sketch at Deedee's Digis. I decided to go with mostly pinks for the card, because they fit well with the summery image. The papers and butterfly brad are all from my stash. The paper flowers are by Flor-A-Doodle.

Tabletop Graveyard

Things are cooling off and we're starting to have some of those cool crisp nights. Time to Think of fall and that means Halloween is fast approaching! Time to start all those creepy projects!

I created this 3D Project for the Challenge over at Stamp It Crazy, for their You're Dead challenge, to create your own tombstone. The challenge is to create your tombstone on a project, so I figured I might was well go for an actual graveyard! The rules are that you must Use Red, Black and Grey, and must included a tombstone and a moon. After looking at my completed project, I realized what an awesome decoration this would be for the table tops at Halloween parties!

I found this gray cage in the dollar Bin at Michael's yesterday and immediately I envisioned it as a graveyard for Halloween. So it was perfect for a project to enter into this challenge. I've been wanting to try a 3D project, so this is the perfect opportunity for me... A new Beginning, so to speak, since its my first try at an altered 3D project.

I did my tombstone on gray cardstock with black ink and then cut it out and attached it to the bottom of my cage. The spooky black tree is digital clipart that I printed onto light gray cardstock and cut out. (Sorry, I'm not sure of the exact source). I added some blood to the tree and the tombstone with a red promarker, then attached the tree and tombstone to the bottom of my cage.

I had some of that white fake spiderweb silk that I saved from an old Halloween decoration I threw out. I knew I'd find something to use it for, eventually, so I added that to the bottom of the cage surrounding my images, and then topped it with Xmas Red stickles for shine and to add color and creepiness. I hand cut a moon from black cardstock and hung it from the top of the cage, then placed a black cat image on the front of the cage.

Presto! An altered cage turned tabletop graveyard! It reminds of the book/story, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow."

This was so much fun to make, and forced me to go "outside my box" by making my first altered 3D project.

Musical Elegance with Craft Your Passion

It is challenge day over at Passion. This week, the recipe is to use lace and at least one flower on your project. It doesn't have to be a card, it can be any type of craft project. Play along with us, for your chance to win an image of your choice from Lauretta's Digital Stamps and CocoDingo. They have some cute images to choose from!

I decided to go with black and white + one other color, for my color combo. I love this color combo and it is perfect for this image. I'm using the Piano image from Lauretta. I colored the piano with a black Promarker and then added highlights using a white Prismacolor colored pencil. This is my first time at coloring an all black image, so I was very nervous about it, at first. While its not perfect, it came out better than I thought, and I'm pleased with the overall effect. My card layout is based on the sketch from Paper Pretties, 2 Sketches 4 You,and from the sketch at Kgiron. The striped DP is from my stash, and I used one piece of it flipped the opposite direction, for some added contrast. The red flowers are a recent purchase and its my first time using them. (I love them!) The flowers are by recollections and give the card 3D dimension. This ribbon is new also. I found it at Michael's and it struck my fancy. I had no idea when I bought it, what I would use it for... But then when I seen this piano image, I new this ribbon would go perfectly. (I love the silver blingy gems on this ribbon, and the sparkle!) I purchased the lace from Joanne's specifically for this project.

Feeling Creepy?

It's that time of year, already... Time for ghouls, ghosts and haunted houses! I love this time of year! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. So, what perfect theme to make a card for. For my card, I have used this awesome image from Shelly's Images, and you can get it in her store today only for a special sale price! Perfect for those Halloween cards!

I colored the image using Promarkers. The DP is from my stash and came from an old Halloween paper pad by K & C Co. The skulls are punched with a skull and crossbones punch by Martha Stewart and then mounted with foam tape for 3D dimension.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Happy Birthday

I made this card for a good friend of mine, who's celebrating his birthday next week. I know he's going to be laughing when he sees it, but he will love it.

I used the Sketch at Sketch And Stash. The DP is all from my stash. The image is called Miss Fortune and is from Kenny K. She reminds me Lady Gaga in her Bad Romance video. (I Cant remember where the round Happy Birthday sentiment is from.. I forgot to write it down. I'll look through my files and then edit the post to give credit to the creator, once I figure out who it is. Sorry about that.) I punched the image and matting with a ticket corner punch from Stampin Up. I wanted to keep the card clean and simple, since it's for a guy.

Let's Get Back To School

It's Back To School Time, so I made a card in honor of school! This card is for a co worker to give to her newphew, who just started first grade.

I used the sketch at Some Odd Girl for card design, but I changed one shape (pencil) and changed the direction of that piece of the sketch. The apple image is from Inktegrity. The pencil image if from the Kidz Korner section of Shelly's Images. The images at Kidz Korner are hand drawn by Shelly's daughter, Taylor, and they are too cute! If you haven't checked out Shelly's Images, and Kidz Korner, you are missing out! I colored both images with Promarkers. The DP and the awesome ruler ribbon are from my stash.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Challenge #18 Back To School at Fussy and Fancy
