Your Pad Or Mine?

Time for my first project for Shelly's Images! Whoo Hoo! I am soooooo excited to be part of this talented group of ladies! Thanks so much for having me, ladies!

My card features the awesome image, My Pad, from Shelly's Images. I love this image because of its versatility, and darn it he is just cute! Wouldn't you just love to find him floating in your pond? He is available, right now, and on sale for a limited time, so pop on over and grab him for your very own! you can find him, and lots of other fantastic images at Shelly's Images store. Keep coming back and browsing the store, too, because there are lots more wonderful images being released.

I went with birthday for this card, because my cousin has a special birthday coming up and she absolutely loves frogs! Since its a frog, I went with a mostly monochromatic color theme, with some pink thrown in, and another little splash of colors in the ribbon. The layout is a combination of sketches from Sunda Sketch & Stamp and Sketch #79 from Card Patterns. I got creative with the one from Card Patterns and moved the elements all around to fit on my lattice cut card. For the card base, I used white cardstock with a lattice pattern cut into one side. The patterned paper is from my stash. After adding the paper, I decided to fill in the rest of the white space by sponging it with a green ink pad. (This is a new technique for me.) The image is colored with Promarkers and then cut out and mounted with foam mounting tape, for dimension. The ribbon is from my stash. The sentiment is from Stampin UP and is punched using the oval and scalloped oval punches. Lots of fancy cutting on this card! I added pink flowers for dimension and to give the card that little extra something that it seemed to be missing, without them. I love the look of the scrunched pink flowers.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

You have until The end of the day on Aug 31 to participate in the festivities. Winners will be announced by Sept 2.

If you arrived here from the blog of our wonderful creator, Janette, then you are on the right track. If not, you will want to go back to the Stamping Dragon website and start from the beginning.

In celebration of our Birthday here at Stamping Dragon, and the birthday of Janette herself, Janette created this special digi stamp, above, in honor of their birthdays. This wonderful image is called Rupert's Birthday. Right now, for a limited time only, you can get this image for your very own, for just 99 cents, in the store.

Now, let me show you what I did with this awesome image. Here is my card, below, created especially to celebrate the birthdays of Janette and Stamping Dragon. I made this cute spinner card. You can see the white scalloped tab on the right of the striped box. Turning that tab makes the text in the window move. How cute is that?!

I used an MS border punch for the punched flowers.

Now, head on over to Tam's blog, to see the yummy eye candy she created for your viewing pleasure.

If you get lost along the way, you may come back here to view the blog hop list, and get back on track. The complete list is at the bottom of this post.

Stop on over and play along, and while you are there, check out more creative inspiration by the rest of our design team.

For my card, I chose an image from Lauretta's Digital Stamps. I love this fairy. She looks like she is blowing kisses. I went with a blue color theme this time, with a sprinkle of other colors, here and there. I used the sketch at 2 sisters. The cardstock and DP are scraps from my stash. I colored the image with Promarkers. The DP and the ribbon are all from my stash. My flowers were made by punching blue cardstock with the 5 petal flower punch from Stampin up, then I folded the flowers in half and added foam mounting tape under the fold, to make them stand out, before attaching them to my card. I used a white opaque pen by Inksentials to add the lines and centers to the flowers. (I know I know.. I could have done a better job. The lighting wasn't very bright and i miseed some spots, not to mention got a little crooked. I wasn't drinking, I swear! LOL

I think you're Greeeaaattt and I'm not Lion!

Time for a new challenge over at Stamping With The Dragon. For this round, we are using a simple sketch. Jump on over and join us for your chance to win some images of your choice, from Stamping Dragon Designs.

I used a new image by Stamping Dragon Designs, called Lucy Lion. Lucy is colored with Promarkers. The DP is a scrap from my stash. The flower border was punched with a border punch by Martha Stewart. The buttons are recycled from some old shirts I threw away. The flower medallion was made with strips of DP punched with a border punch, then accordian folded and secured together, then folded into a flower. I seen a tutorial on this and just had to try it! They are a lot of work, but well worth it, in my opinion. This card fits the sketch at Papertake Weekly and Raise The Bar.

Let's Go Back To School

I finally found some time to do a little bit of crafting. Since it's Back To School time,I figured I'd make a card in honor of school days. This card reminds me of a teacher I used to have in 8th grade, Mrs Estoye. I swear the woman was an imposter and locked the real teacher in the closet. I couldn't wait for that school year to be over! (I'm sure we all remember a teacher like that)

For this card, I used the Sketches at Papertake Weekly, Sweet Stop and Sunday Sketch & Stamp, and Crafty Ho's. The image is from the Stella line of digi stamps, from Bugaboo, and is colored with Promarkers. (I just love Jodi's images!) Stella may not be lovely to most of us, but I'm sure she is, in some way, to her husband Gus. After all, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right?

The background paper is all scraps from my stash. The border is punched using a border punch from Martha Stewart. I tore these buttons off some old clothes I threw away. The ribbon is new, from the dollar bin at Target. It's hard to see in the pic, but I used a clearstar jelly roll pen to her glasses to make them shine.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

P is for Punches at Alphabet Challenge
Challenge #43 Die Cuts (punched border) at If The Shoe Fits

I love themes like this, because there is such a wonderful variety of projects. I hope you will stop by Craft Your Passion, this week, and play along with us for a chance to win an image of your choice from Lauretta's Digital Stamps and CocoDingo.

For this card, I used paper and cardstock from my Stash. The image is called Cactus and is from CocoDingo . I colored it with those oh so wonderful Promarkers. I used an ornately printed piece of acetate as a "shelf" for the cacti to sit on. (I just bought this wonderful assorted pack of acetate on clearance at Michael's and it is so much fun to work with). The photo corners are punched with a photo corner punch by EK Success.

Autographed Tim Holtz Alterations Die! Whoo Hooo!

This has been a busy week for me, so I haven't done a lot of crafting. A friend and I went to a Wine & Cheese Kickoff party for the rubber stamp convention, Stampaway, that is being held in Cincinnati this weekend. The party was so much fun! They had a chinese auction and tons of great prizes. I won some rubber stamps and Hero Hues adhesive embellishments from Hero Arts. And, I won something else really cool....

I won one of the new ALterations dies... The Ornate On the Edge die, from Tim Holtz.
And.... Get this........

........
............
..................
.....................The package is autographed by Tim Holtz, himself!!!

Can you beleive it?! I was so psyched to win it!

Now, to figure out what the heck to do with it! LOL (I've never used one of these. Any tips or suggestions?)

I know there are lots of Tim Holtz fans out there, so....

How many of you are wishing you were me, right now?! LOL

Take Time To Say Thank You

I've been busy crafting my tushie off, this week. Here's a cute little thank you card I made to send to my cousin, who helped me out so much when my mom passed away, awhile back. She's going through a hard time herself right now, and I just wanted to take the time to, again, say thank you for all she's done for me.

I chose the colors lime green and purple. Purple is my favorite color, and I love to experiment and try different color combinations. I've decided that I really like these two colors together. The inspiration for the card layout came from the sketch at Peachy Keen. I used more of the old papers from my stash. I love the look of the dots and stripes together. The image is by Lexi's Creations and is colored with Promarkers. I punched this cute turtle with a 1 3/4" circle punch by Stampin up, Then with a scalloped circle punch by EK Success. The strip of green cardstock is punched using a MS border punch. The sentiment is from Stampin Up's Warm Regards set and and punched with their oval and scalloped oval punches by Stampin Up.

In The Pink, Baby

I haven't made a baby card in awhile, and I've been in the mood for pink, girlie and gingham, lately. All that resulted in a pink monochromatic card. I will have to edit the post a little later, with the name of the designer of this cute baby digi stamp. I printed this out awhile back and forgot to write the designer's name on the back, so I'll have to go through my files and find the creater's name. The image is colored with Promarkers.

The gingham paper, pink ribbon and cardstock for the card are from my stash. I used the sketch at One Stitch At A Time, for my card layout. Sometimes I just love the clean & simple look. The sentiment is from the Stampin Up set, Teeny Tiny Wishes. I punched it out with the oval and scalloped oval punches, also from Stampin up. The sentiment is pop dotted for a 3D effect.

It's A Dog Eat Dog World

It's a doggie from the dark side. This image is from KennyK and is perfect for representing the saying, "It's A Dog Eat Dog World." This dog is eating a dog of his own. How's that for, "punny?" He must be the pet of one of KennyK's new Gothik Angelz. I loved this dog image and as soon as I seen it, I had to make a card with it. Their challenge this week is "From The Dark Side," which isn't usually my style, so this is new for me. I'm not sure how "dark" I was able to make him, but I gave it a shot. I tried to use darker colors, but had to add a little splash of color for the hotdog.

This image reminds me of the movie, All Dogs Go To heaven, because this dog is certainly in heaven, eating that hotdog! I have a dog just like this, but she's black and she loves it when she gets "people food!" It also remdinds me of the Carrie Underwood song, "The More Boys I Meet" (The More I like my dog! I love this song and now I have it playing over in my head. *sigh*

For this card, I used the sketches from Pear Tree Designs and from Sweet Stampin. All papers are from my stash. I love the black and white gingham checked paper. The center piece of DP with the stitched stripe is from my scrap box. I colored the image with Promarkers, using the grey family. (This is my absolute favorite prodcut, ever!) Then, I distressed the image block by adding some dark grey ink to the edges, and matted the block on black cardstock. The 3 sets of 3 dots on the image block were made with a fine tip black Promarker. The black flowers are new. I found these in the clearance section at Meijers. They had pink stones in the centers, and I altered them by removing the stones and adding skittles dyed with cranberry alcohol ink. The black skittles in the opposite corners are from my stash. The sentiment is computer generated. The skittles and flowers add a nice 3D effect.

Challenge #17 at Craft Your Passion

It's Time for a new challenge over at Craft Your Passion. This week, we have a simple sketch. I absolutely love sketches, because they force me to try new things and different layouts and they are so much fun. I hope you will play along with us, this week. Hop on over to Craft Your Passion and join us. You could win images from Lauretta's Digital Stamps and CocoDingo. If you use one of thier stamps on your project, and win, you'll get an extra digi of your choice! What a deal!

For my card, for the Craft Your Passion DT, I used an image by CoCoDingo. I fell in love with this image when I seen it. Perfect for a male card. It reminds me of the movie about Tom Sawyer.

I followed the sketch at Craft Your Passion's current challenge. The image was colored with Promarkers. I used photo corners punched with an EK Success photo corner punch, for embellishing. The background paper is from my stash.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
